Women kills husband over affair
A woman allegedly killed her husband and set his body on fire after she discovered his sexual relationship with another woman.

Hills Inspector P. Murali Krishna said that V. Lakshmi, 46, a resident
of Gowri Shankar Colony was married to Venkatesh, 56, a small scale
contractor. "Venkatesh would often come home drunk and harass her. She
confessed that she recently found out that her husband was having a
sexual relationship with a labourer who worked for him,” he said.
On
Thursday night Lakshmi mixed some sleeping pills with his tea. After he
dozed off she clobbered him to death and then burned his corpse.
Lakshmi told her tenants about the incident on Friday, and they
immediately called the police.
Inspector Murali Krishna said she
surrendered to the police without resistance and confessed her crime. In
her statement Lakshmi said she was being assaulted for years by her
drunkard husband. She said that his affair was the last straw. The
police registered a case of murder against Lakshmi. The murder weapon, a
hammer, and packet of sleeping pills were seized. It has been taken as
evidence. Tenants to whom she confessed the crime and other neighbours
have been listed as witnesses the police said.
