AP to sizzle at 43 by month end
With Rentachintala recording the
highest temperature of 42°C in the region for the month of March and
Hyderabad registering 39.1°C on Wednesday, weather experts predict that
the state will sizzle at 42-43°C by March end.
The Indian Meteorological Department revealed that Nizamabad, Kadapa and Kurnool will also see record-high temperatures.
On
Friday, the maximum temperature in Hyderabad will be around 39°C, but
could touch 40°C by March 30 and 31. April will begin even warmer at a
maximum of 41°C.
A Met official said the average temperature all
over the state in the past 10 yea-rs for the month of March has never
crossed 37.5°C.
This trend of soaring temperatures is expected to
continue till the onset of monsoon in June, with peak temperatures
likely to touch 48°C at most places.
Experts at IMD attribute the
dry and hot weather to an inert Bay of Bengal where there is no build up
of weather systems like a depression or cyclone. A system development
there is the only hope for respite from the heat wave.
